Award Overview

The Hong Kong Distinguished Brand Leader Award gives recognition to Hong Kong entrepreneurs for the remarkable achievements in brand-building and contributions towards the development of Hong Kong brands, with the objective of identifying role models for the industries and promoting Hong Kong’s brand culture.

Organiser

The Hong Kong Brand Development Council and the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong are the co-organisers of the Award.

  1. The Brand Leader Award will be presented at the Presentation Ceremony of the Hong Kong Top Brand Awards and Hong Kong Top Service Brand Awards. The winner will receive a trophy and a certificate as permanent memento of achievement.
  2. 2. Subject to the approval of the Organisers, the Awardee is entitled to use the specially-designed Logo of the Brand Leader Award for the promotion of his/her personal image as well as the overall image of the affiliated brand and the company thereof.
  1. To be eligible, a candidate of the Brand Leader Award should be a Hong Kong citizen, who has been at the helm of a Hong Kong brand (“Candidate’s Brand” thereafter) and has bought significant influence on the development of the Brand, e.g. as its major founder, inheritor, owner or  a core member of the highest-level management of the Brand; and he/she must have been engaged in the operation of the Brand for not less than 10 years.
  2. A Candidate’s Brand must be a winner of the Hong Kong Top Brand Ten Year Achievement Award or Hong Kong Top Service Brand Ten Year Achievement Award, which holds a valid licence of the Hong Kong Top Brand Mark (Top Mark) Scheme currently.
  3. A previous winner of the Brand Leader Award is no longer eligible to be nominated as a candidate for the same award.

Assessment will be based on the following criteria:

  • Achievement
  • Integrity
  • Vision
  • Leadership
  • Contribution
  1. Candidates for the Brand Leader Award will be nominated by the Organisers in writing around the middle of every year, after a preliminary screening of the perspective candidates and their affiliated brands.
  2. As per the requirements of the Organisers and with reference to the judging criteria, the nominee should within the specified time provide information to give a brief overview of his/her efforts and achievements in advancing the Candidate’s Brand.
  3. The Hong Kong Top Brand Assessment Board will decide on the winner of Brand Leader Award no later than December of the same year.
  4. Normally, only one winner of the Brand Leader Award will be chosen every year.


The Hong Kong Distinguished Brand Leader Award Logo is the visual symbol of Hong Kong Distinguished Brand Leader Award.

Awardees of “Hong Kong Distinguished Brand Leader Award” are entitled to use the specially-designed logo of the Brand Leader Award for the promotion of the Awardee’s personal image as well as the overall image of the Awardee’s Brand and the company thereof.

Individual and Organisation authorised to use the Logo shall ensure that it is used in compliance with the regulation and requirements established by the Organiser, including but not limited to those laid down in the “Terms and Conditions” and “Selection Criteria” of Hong Kong Distinguished Brand Leader Award.

Winner of the Brand Leader Award, the Awardee’s Brand and its company could use the Logo only if it holds a valid licence of “Hong Kong Top Brand Mark (Top Mark) Scheme”; and it shall endeavour to ensure the Logo is used according to “Identity Guide for Hong Kong Distinguished Brand Leader Award Logo”.

The logo of Hong Kong Distinguished Brand Leader Award is designed by the Honorary Advisor Mr Charles Ng. It is a glittering re-definition of the Hong Kong Premier Brand Mark, drawing inspiration from a splendid nebula explosion, a swirling auspicious cloud and fluttering ribbons. It denotes power, influence, and remarkable accomplishment.
