Seminar on “Brand Authenticity and Protection”

The Hong Kong Brand Development Council (BDC), the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong, and Hong Kong Brands Protection Alliance (HKBPA) jointly held the Seminar on “Brand Authenticity and Protection” on October 16 (Thursday).

The Seminar started with a speech by Mr Matthew Mak, Divisional Commander (Intellectual Property Transnational Investigation Division) of Hong Kong Customs & Excise Department of HKSAR, who elaborated on the Trade Descriptions Ordinance; followed by Mr William Chau, Managing Director of the B2A Consulting Ltd. shed light on brand management. In the second part of the Seminar, Mr Johnson Li, Deputy Manager of Legal Affairs Department of China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. elaborated on the brand protection in China, followed by Mr Benny Kong, Partner of Benny Kong & Yeung Solicitors, elaborated on brand protection on intellectual property management in exhibition; while Dr Lewis Luk JP, Senior Associate of P.C. Woo & Co. elaborated on online infringement and protection of domain names.

Chairman of the BDC Ms Shirley Chan JP and President of Hong Kong Brands Protection Alliance, Dr Dennis Ng BBS, MH attended the Seminar and presented souvenirs to the speakers on behalf of the Organisers. The Seminar received overwhelming response, attracting about 70 participants.
