Hong Kong Brand Development Fourm

To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Establishment of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the CMA and the BDC jointly organized the “Hong Kong Brand Development Forum” at JW Marriott Hotel on 4 July 2007 . The Forum was one of the celebration events listed in the 10th Anniversary celebration programs of the HKSAR.

The theme of the Forum was “Building up Our Brands, Shining up Hong Kong”. The Forum aimed to showcase Hong Kong’s enviable achievements in branding and to provide a platform for the Government, industries, professionals and the academia, to discuss on the way forward for Hong Kong brands in the future. It received enthusiastic response and attracted an audience of over 350.  

At the Forum, Miss Yvonne Choi and Mr Kan Tai Keung, a renowned designer, spoke on the topic of “From Made in Hong Kong to Created by Hong Kong” and “Product Innovation and Brand Value-added” respectively.
 

The keynote speeches were followed by “Brand Determines” panel discussion that centered on “How to leverage on Hong Kong’s advantages to establish outstanding brands”, under the moderation of Mr Heung Shui Fai. The Panel featured a strong line-up of celebrities and experts, including the BDC Vice-Chairman Dr Danny Ngai, Professor Leo Sin from Department of Marketing of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Chairman of Hong Kong Retail Management Association Mr Bankee Kwan, Chairman of Hong Kong Institute of Marketing Mr K M Yim, Director of Goodway Electrical Co Ltd Dr Choi Lung Wai, General Manager of Marketing and Station Business of MTR Corporation Ms Jeny Yeung, and Manager of Global Midmarket Business of IBM China/Hong Kong Limited Mr Wing Ho.
