With its excellent teachers and tremendous dedication to education, Beacon Group strives to act as a lighthouse to lead its students to leap in light and put what they have learnt into practice.
Established in 1989, Beacon Group offers pre-primary education, tutorial classes at primary and secondary levels, day-time secondary courses, post-secondary education, consultation on admission to overseas institutions, as well as various courses in life-long learning and professional training. As one of the most sizeable private institutions in Asia, it operates 12 schools with approximately 100 classrooms, which spread over Hong Kong, serving several ten thousand students every year. Beacon Group endeavours to create and offer a platform for those who have strong passion for working in the field of education, while helping teenagers to actualise their potentials and make contributions to the society.
Beacon Group provides diverse education services to encourage holistic and life-long learning, which range from pre-primary courses, primary and secondary tutorial courses, day-time secondary courses to HND courses, in addition to a variety of professional training programmes on interview skills, corporate communication, and photography. Beacon has set up Global Education Services Centre to cater to students aspiring for overseas study, providing them with comprehensive consulting service and advice on life planning.
To stay abreast of technological advancement, Beacon Group has taken the lead in employing innovative teaching and learning methodologies. For example, the "Beacon VIP" (Video-Induced Pedagogy) encourages studentoriented autonomous learning by giving them the room to opt for dates, timeslots, teachers and fields of study to their liking. It has also made a breakthrough in traditional classroom learning by introducing "O2O" courses for senior secondary school students, with an abundant supply of online materials for students’ home study.
In order to encourage staff and students to help the underprivileged, Beacon has supported and worked with various local charitable organisations, such as Plan International Hong Kong, Orbis Hong Kong, Yan Chai Hospital, Access Abroad Hong Kong, Hong Kong Red Cross, Uplift Educational Charity Foundation, Principal Chan Free Tutorial World and Youth New World, etc. Its great efforts in social services have led to the repeated conferment of "Social Capital Builder (SCB) Awards" by the Labour and Welfare Bureau for several years as well as the "Caring Company" logo for 15 consecutive years.
