Mr Lee Kum Sheung founded "Lee Kum Kee" in Nan Shui, Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, China in 1888. With a glorious history of over a hundred years, the Brand has become an international household name and a symbol of quality and trust. Committed to promoting Chinese culinary culture worldwide, Lee Kum Kee also strives to be the global gateway to Asian culinary culture, offering more than 300 sauces and food products to over 100 countries and regions worldwide.
Upholding the "Zero Tolerance Quality Management Philosophy:100-1=0" , Lee Kum Kee sauces passed through stringent tests for quality, safety and flavour, and had been selected for use on "Shenzhou" spacecrafts since 2012. In 2022, it became the first food manufacturer to receive the Nominee Award of “Guangdong Provincial Government Quality Award”, while the oyster sauce making technique was included in the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Guangdong Province. In 2024, Lee Kum Kee was appointed to be the exclusive Official Sauce and Condiment Partner of "The World's 50 Best Restaurants" , while being chosen as the first batch of "Guangdong Time- Honoured Brands" .
Xinhui production base of Lee Kum Kee was recognized as "National Green Factory" by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in 2018; and it became the first one in fermented food industry globally that received "LEED" Platinum certification in 2020. Lee Kum Kee has since 2022 signed up the ESG Pledge organised by the CMA and was honoured with the first “Hong Kong ESG Grand Award” in 2023. The Company also received "Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence — Silver Award" from the Environmental Campaign Committee and the Environment and Ecology Bureau in 2023; and won the "Green Management Award — Corporate (Large Corporation) Bronze Award" by the Green Council in 2023 and 2024. These recognitions are testaments to Lee Kum Kee's strenuous and fruitful efforts in promoting sustainable development.
